Moon Radish Soup

  • Source: Svetlana Leveton at Oleg’s Trading Post
  • Task: Oleg’s been under a lot of stress lately, and Svetlana would love to cook him his favorite meal (moon radish soup) to help him relax. Unfortunately, moon radishes are relatively rare. A patch grows about 16 miles south of the trading post.
  • Completion: ring Svetlana a basket of moon radishes.
  • Reward: Svetlana is ready to pay a reward to anyone who can bring her enough moon radishes to make soup. (200 gp in trading post credit received!)

Svetlana’s Ring

  • Source: Oleg Leveton, at Oleg’s Trading Post
  • Task: Although his wife claims it’s not a big loss compared to what the bandits could have taken, Oleg knows the theft of her wedding ring has distressed her. She’s forbidden him from risking life and limb to recover it, but if anyone else can find the ring and return it to him, he’ll be very grateful.
  • Completion: Track down the ring. The bandits were the last to have it, but they might have lost or sold it already.
  • Reward: Oleg promises a reward if his wife’s ring can be recovered. (1,000 gp in trading post credit received!)

Wanted: Bandits

  • Source: Wanted poster at Oleg’s Trading Post
  • Task: The bandits in the Greenbelt need to be shown that their actions will not be tolerated. Capture or defeat at least ten of them to send a message.
  • Completion: Any ten bandits defeated completes this quest.
  • Reward: One week after the tenth defeat, bandit activity is noticeably affected and the swordlords send a reward of 400 gp. (Reward received!)

Gathering Fangberries

  • Source: Crazy old Bokken
  • Task: Bokken’s something of an eccentric, but he sure knows how to make delicious potions. His secret is fangberry juice, but he’s running low. A large thicket of fangberries grows about 55 miles southwest of Bokken’s hut.
  • Completion: Bring Bokken enough berries to make fangberry juice for seven potions. Make sure they’re not dirty… Bokken won’t bother washing the berries before he uses them.
  • Reward: Bokken gives the PCs a 25% discount on all potions for a month. (Reward received!)

Temple of the Elk

  • Source: Jhod Kavken, at Oleg’s Trading Post
  • Task: Jhod asks the PCs to seek out a lost temple of Erastil somewhere to the south. He warns them that a large bear seems to be guarding the site, and that something isn’t quite “right” about the bear.
  • Completion: Put the tortured bear to rest and escort Jhod to the temple to restore it to functionality.
  • Reward: Jhod agrees to provide all of his spellcasting for free to the PCs for life (with the exception of expensive material components, which the PCs must still supply). (Reward received!)

Wanted: Tuskgutter

  • Source: Wanted poster at Oleg’s Trading Post
  • Task: Every Greenbelt hunter has a story about Tuskgutter, each wilder than the last. Whoever manages to kill the ill-tempered beast will get a nice reward from old, retired Vekkel Benzen, who lost his leg to the monster pig a year ago.
  • Completion: Deliver Tuskgutter’s head to Oleg’s.
  • Reward: Vekkel has promised his masterwork longbow and six +1 animal bane arrows to whoever can kill Tuskgutter. He also promises to share the head cheese he plans to make out of his trophy. (Reward received!)

Kobolds in the Hills

  • Source: Wanted poster at Oleg’s Trading Post
  • Task: The Sootscale kobolds dwell in a cave somewhere in the Kamelands. Normally not a problem, they’ve been riled up by something lately. Find their lair and ensure that the kobolds aren’t going to continue being a threat.
  • Completion: Either slay the kobolds or forge an alliance of peace with them.
  • Reward: The swordlords send a reward of 800 gp once the kobolds activity is under control. (Reward received in Chapter One and a Half!)

Northern Howls

  • Source: Wanted poster at Oleg’s Trading Post
  • Task: A ferocious worg stalks the Kamelands! His name is Howl-of-the-North-Wind, and he’s been eating bandits and hunters for years. The ravenous worg needs to be slain.
  • Completion: Kill the worg and display his body at Oleg’s Trading Post.
  • Reward: The swordlords approve a reward of 1,200 gp to the heroes who slay Howl-of-the-North-Wind. (Reward received!)

Replacing Melianse’s Trees

  • Source: Melianse the nixie.
  • Task: Melianse doesn’t care how the PCs replace the trees, nor does she care what kind of trees they replace the felled ones with. She simply wants trees back to help retore the “balance” of her home.
  • Completion: The easiest solution to this quest involves gathering tree feather tokens and placing them near the sites of the felled tress. The nixie suggests contacting the dryad to the northwest for help.
  • Reward: Not only does Melianse agree to release the two charmed lumberjacks from her control, she gladly agrees to keep an eye out along the Greenbelt’s rivers for any trouble or rumors of danger. [This grants a +2 bonus to their nation’s Stability.] (Reward received!)

Wrath of the Scythe Tree

  • Source: Tiressia the dryad
  • Task: Tiressia wants the PCs to slay the scythe tree – if possible, without causing excessive damage to the surrounding forest.
  • Completion: Once the scythe tree is slain, Tiressia learns of the event swiftly as the deed is whispered among the branches and roots of the Narlmarches.
  • Reward: Tiressia gives the PCs all of her combat gear in reward. In addition, she also promises to aid the PCs in guarding the Narlmarches and keep them updated about threats within its borders. [This grants a +2 bonus to their nation’s Stability.] (Reward received!)

Wanted: Falgrim Sneeg

  • Source: Kesten Garess, at Oleg’s Trading Post
  • Task: A mercenary Kesten worked with months ago was a Varisian man named Falgrim Sneeg. Falgrim robbed the group and fled into the Greenbelt to become a bandit, and Kesten hopes to catch him alive and return him to Restove for punishment.
  • Completion: Capture Falgrim Sneeg, alive if possible.
  • Reward: Kesten arranges a reward of two masterwork weapons. (Reward received!)

The Stag Lord

  • Source: Official charter from Restov.
  • Task: The Stag Lord is wanted “dead or alive.”
  • Completion: Word of the Stag Lord’s defeat must be sent to Restov – if his body is not available as proof, an agent of the swordlords will be sent to the area to confirm the banditry has been addressed.
  • Reward: A new charter granting permission to establish a colony in the Greenbelt, as well as a shipment of gold, tools, craftsmen, laborers, and colonists eager to make a new life ( = 50 Build Points). (Reward received!)

Where’s Tig?

  • Source: Tig Tannerson’s distraught parents.
  • Task: Young Tig Tannerson has always been a handful. His hobby of collecting “pets” from the wilds along the riverbanks of the southern Greenbelt has placed him in danger many times, but now it appears he’s really in trouble. Tig has been missing for several days, and his parents are distraught with worry. Finding him will increase the kingdom’s morale.
  • Completion: Find Tig and deliver him safely home.
  • Reward: The kingdom’s Loyalty increases by 2. (Reward received!)

That Damn Turtle!

  • Source: Arven the fisherman.
  • Task: Arven has a secret fishing hole on the east bank of the Tuskwater, but now an ill-tempered beast has claimed the spot. The beast in question is a semi-legendary hookjaw turtle named Old Crackjaw. Kill him! Watch out for his chompers!
  • Completion: Kill (or drive off) Old Crackjaw from Arven’s secret fishing hole.
  • Reward: Arven finds all sorts of things; he’ll give whoever helps him a ring of feather falling he found in a pike’s stomach as a reward. (Reward received!)

A Lady’s Desire

  • Source: Lily Teskertin, local flirt.
  • Task: Lily’s always loved the workmanship of fine elven crafting but has never owned an example of such superb work. She’s heard rumors of an old elven ruin in the Narlmarches; if anyone could find the ruins and salvage from them an example of elven workmanship, she would be EVER so grateful…
  • Completion: Find a statuette of fine elven craftsmanship.
  • Reward: Lily’s willing to trade her dead father’s cloak of resistance and a kiss (or perhaps a bit more) for such a statue. (Reward – a +1 cloak of resistance – received!)

I Swear I’m Sober!

  • Source: Stas, a local lumberjack.
  • Task: Stas claims to have seen an elusive hodag and to have stuck it with his magic spear. His friends think that he lost his spear in the river while he was drunk and made up the hodag sighting to cover up his clumsiness. The poor lumberjack’s honor is at stake!
  • Completion: Kill the hodag and bring its head to Stas so he can show it to his friends. That’ll learn ’em!
  • Reward: Stas promises that you can keep his magic spear as a reward. “It’s probably still stuck in the hodag’s back!” (Reward – a +1 keen spear – received!)

Forest Drake Hunt

  • Source: Wanted poster.
  • Task: Rumors of a dragon haunting the southern Narlmarches are probably (hopefully) overstated. The evidence indicates that the source of the rumors is merely a forest drake. In any event, it’s killing folks and needs to be put down.
  • Completion: Find a forest drake, kill it, and return to town with its head as proof.
  • Reward: The kingdom approves a reward of 1,200 gp to the first group to successfully slay a forest drake in the Narlmarches. (Reward received!)

Troll Blood

  • Source: Bokken, then the Old Beldame.
  • Task: Bokken has a theory that trolls’ blood can serve as a catalyst during the creation of healing potions. But until he gets a supply of the blood, he won’t be able to prove his theory. The Old Beldame made the same request.
  • Completion: Deliver waterskins filled with troll blood to the alchemist and/or swamp witch. They don’t need more than one waterskin each, so one troll donor each should do the trick.
  • Reward: Bokken and the Old Beldame each promised 1,200 gp in potions (hunter’s choice), deliverable about a week after the blood is delivered. (Rewards received!)
